Return to Boston (Mateo)

The final day was bitter-sweet. As I was excited to get back home and see my family, it was sad to leave my host family and all of my host brother’s friends. My host brother’s mom made an Irish breakfast as a last Irish meal. We arrived at the airport where I met all the other BC High students and their host brothers. We all said bye to each other and headed off to get our bags checked. Security was fairly smooth, and we got to the gate pretty quickly. As I’m writing this on the plane, there’s about an hour and a half left until we land in Boston. In the end, this trip was a great experience and I would definitely recommend it to any future BC High sophomore. I think the experience of having a host brother and family is the best way to be immersed into another culture. I hope the relationship between Belvedere and BC High stays strong, and this trip is an opportunity for every future BC High sophomore.
